Watercolour and Ink: Impressions Of Mudgee

I’ve really been impressed with all the watercolour and pen sketches at Urban Sketchers lately. Some much so that I decided to give it a go myself.

Admittedly this isn’t technically the same thing as the Urban Sketchers do since I was working from a photograph and not out in the field (or the street as it were). But I bought a little tin of watercolour paints and decided to give it a go. Originally I used my trusty 2B mechanical pencil to do some outlines, then filled with paint and finished off with pen.

This is based on a photograph I took in Mudgee, NSW some years ago.

Nice. Mudgee actually is full of bright colours like you’ve used in your image. I personally would’ve edited out the roundabout sign, but it’s certainly true to life your way!
